The spoon stored in the container enters sleep mode to keep energy consumption at a minimum. As soon as the spoon is moved, it detects motion and analyzes its movements to count the number of scoops dispensed. Once you set the spoon down and movement stops, the spoon transmits the recorded data to the receiver unit. Even if communication fails, the system retains the data and will transmit any unsent information during the next successful transfer.
The receiver sends the counted data to a server via a pre-configured connection, where you can access it at any time. The receiver is capable of storing spoon data for up to one month, and can upload it to the server even after a prolonged internet outage.
If, when the spoon is moved, its LED flashes orange three times, this indicates that the spoon is still functional but the battery is running low and needs to be charged.
In addition to scoop counts, the receiver also sends each spoon’s battery voltage to the server, so you’ll always know if a spoon needs charging.
The website and its features, where you can view all your data, are described in a separate document.
